Sustainable Innovation in the Financial Sector during the Corona Crisis: How Discontinuity Affects Sustainable Innovation, Sustainable Entrepreneurial Orientation, and Absorptive Capacity

The corona crisis caused discontinuity within the financial sector, which has further increased importance of innovation for sustainability and capability to manage discontinuity. aim this research is investigate how affected relationship between sustainability-oriented innovation, sustainable entrepreneurial orientation, absorptive capacity in sector. Empirical was carried out Dutch sector during by means semi-structured interviews with senior managers, group employees, observations, documentation. results qualitative exploratory case-study show that case organization, led an increase uncertainty a decrease risk appetite. However, degree proactivity, innovativeness, knowledge adaptation, acquisition, exploitation, transformation have also as result crisis. Therefore, organization able realize more innovation. Findings seem indicate had predominantly positive effect on (the between) capacity. This several theoretical practical implications contains recommendations practice.
